PPL Construction Update

PPL has announced it will begin important work in November to upgrade an overhead ground wire on a power line that runs about 1.3 miles through Upper Macungie and South Whitehall townships in Lehigh County. This project is necessary to improve electric service for residents.

The majority of the work will be using a helicopter to inspect then to pull rope along the existing power structures. Crews will later use the rope to help to pull the replacement cable into place. There will be some ground work involved but all the work will take place within PPL’s property, easements and authorized access areas.
